Vulcan Ash: No restrictions expected |
There are no restrictions expected in Austrian airspace for the coming days. Austro Control is constantly monitoring the situation.

Vulcan Ash: Crisis Meeting |
At a meeting held by transport minister Doris Bures the following decisions regarding volcanic ash were reached: VAAC Data will continue to serve as basis for decisions regarding airspace restrictions in Austria. If higher ash concentration is expected, Austro Control will launch research flights. The accumulated data will then be provided to VACC to further optimise their calculations.

Vulcan Ash Cloud - Normal Operations |
Because of the Vulcan Ash Cloud air traffic in Austria was partially affected on Sunday, May 9th. During the afternoon and evening hours, no departures and landings were possible in Innsbruck, Linz and Salzburg. After 11pm all Austrian airports returned to normal operations. Vienna International Airport remained fully operational.

New Tower for Salzburg Airport |
Austro Control and Airport Salzburg will build a new tower, which is scheduled to become operational at the end of 2012.
