Selection

1. Pre-selection at Austro Control Academy:

All testing is conducted on PCs and contains:

  • FEAST Web-Test (FEAST = First European Air Traffic Control Selection Test)  
  • working attitude test
  • shape perception test
  • FEAST Strip Display Management Test  

Duration: 8-9 hours; At the end you receive feedback on your test results during a personal interview.

2. Selection at the Austrian Traffic Safety Board (KfV):

sophisticated testing in the field of performance and personality: 

  • abilities such as intelligence, memory, concentration, perception, reaction and especially multiple load are tested by a special computer aided test battery
  • personal interview with psychologists of the KfV

Duration: 9-7 hours; You will receive immediate feedback on your results

3. Medical check:

Another selection criteria is a positve aeromedical check confirming the necessary health condition.

4. Assessment-Day

All suitable candidates will be invited to a common ACG Assessment-Day. During group- and single exercises those candidates will be selected, which will be hired by Austro Control for training as an ATCO.

Condition for advancing to  the next selection phase is successful completion of the preceding phase.
