Airworthiness Directives (LTA)

Airworthiness Directives are legally binding orders which shall be implemented on time in accordance with the legislation in force (esp. M.A.303, ML.A.303, §§ 48 (4) and 34 (2) ZLLV 2010).

Where Austro Control GmbH is the competent design authority, according to the Civil Aircraft and Appliances Ordinance 2010 (Zivilluftfahrzeug- und Luftfahrtgerät-Verordnung 2010 - ZLLV 2010) Austro Control GmbH is obligated to stipulate

  • measures which are essential for continuing transport safety, airworthiness or serviceability (§ 48 Abs. 4 ZLLV 2010) and
  • subsequent changes to the type design which will become necessary for continuing airworthiness, i.e. mandatory changes (§ 34 Abs. 2 ZLLV 2010)

by means of Airworthiness Directives and to promulgate those Airworthiness Directives in a usual manner for aeronautical publications.
The promulgation of Airworthiness Directives takes place electronically in the Österreichisches Nachrichtenblatt für Luftfahrer (ÖNfL) which is linked to this page.
