Austro Control Management Board

Federal Minister for Climate Action Leonore Gewessler has appointed the new management board of Austro Control. Valerie Hackl and Philipp Piber will be managing the Company in the coming years.
Austro Control is facing major challenges. The effects of the Corona crisis are just as much a part of this as the ongoing technological changes. Together, the new management team will now work to tackle these tasks: "Our clear goal is to set up Austro Control in a stable and future-proof manner and thus ultimately to be a good employer and partner for the austrian aviation industry," said Valerie Hackl and Philipp Piber in an initial statement.

The newly appointed managing director Philipp Piber most recently headed the aviation authority at Austro Control. Valerie Hackl has already been working as managing director at Austro Control since 2019. Medium to long term, the aim is to make Austro Control fit for the future through further technological and organisational development.

Commenting on the appointment of the new management team, Climate Minister Leonore Gewessler said: "With Philipp Piber, Austro Control is gaining a very motivated and committed managing director who not only knows the company well, but also brings with him extensive expertise in various fields of aviation. I am convinced that together with Valerie Hackl we have an excellent team to address the great challenges on the way to a modern and greener aviation. I would also like to thank Axel Schwarz for his extensive commitment over the past years."
