Pilot examinations - UPDATE 20.01.2021

Based on the current pandemic developments and as a reaction to the extension of the lockdown regulations, as well as the resolutions passed by the Federal Government of Austria and in order to reduce direct contacts, we are currently unable to commence regular operations in the area of pilot examinations. We have to take this decision also with regard to the health protection of the examination candidates and our examination staff and will inform about the new opening date as early as possible.

Austro Control GmbH will therefore extend the deadline for taking the exam by a further 2 months for each candidate who has already started their exam. In total, including the extension granted so far, candidates of Austro Control will now have 26 months instead of 18 months to take the entire set of theory subjects. For details please refer to the corresponding Civil Aviation Personnel Notice ( ZPH FCL 16 ) on our homepage.

We hope to be able to react adequately to the ongoing closure of the examination room and ask for your understanding for the measures taken.

In the interest of all candidates, Austro Control GmbH will offer additional alternative dates after the re-opening in order to enable them to find an alternative date in a timely manner. We request that all candidates whose cut off date of the above-mentioned period of 26 months demonstrably falls within the lockdown period, or for whom an examination during this period is demonstrably immediately necessary for professional reasons, to contact examinations@austrocontrol.at. Also if you have any further detailed questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at examinations@austrocontrol.at.
