New information on "Pilot Licensing" and "Pilot Exams" (Status 01.04.2020)

After evaluation of the current developments and taking into account the further decisions made by the Federal Government, the area of "pilot licensing" can only be contacted by piloten@austrocontrol.at for an indefinite period of time, until the legal restrictions are lifted. We would therefore ask you, if possible, to submit all applications online or alternatively by post. Please use our application page for this purpose.

In the area of "pilot examinations", the above-mentioned restrictions will also result in a permanent closure of the exam room until the legal measures allow to reopen the facilities. In this context we must also inform you that the allocation of examination dates will only be possible as soon as a date for the re-opening of the examination room has been set.

We kindly ask for your understanding that the measures taken are in accordance with the requirements and recommendations of the authorities and serve to protect the health of each individual.

Update Pilots Licensing

Information on " Licensing department " and " Pilot Exams ” (Status 17.03.2020)

As a reaction to the measures taken by the Austrian Government in relation to COVID-19, pilot licensing is currently only available via e-mail piloten@austrocontrol.at. In order to reduce direct contacts, there is currently no customer support on site by the licensing department. In most cases applications can quickly and easily be made online.

You can find all the relevant forms here:
https://www.austrocontrol.at/piloten/pilotenlizenzen/formulare_part-fcl

Pilot examinations are also affected, whereas the facilities have temporarily been closed. In the event that the closure leads to scheduling problems with regard to the completion of examination events (explicit 18-month rule according to Regulation 1178/2011 FCL.025 c), Austro Control will obtain an extension of the given time frame on the basis of "NBR Article 71 Flexibility Provisions".

In addition, Austro Control has already applied to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for a general suspension of this period. The allocation of examination dates will only be resumed after the examination facilities have been reopened.
